Blind Brew was founded by Sky, who has lived with visual impairment (B2 / low vision) since the age of 17.

At just 20 years old, Sky began working as a foot massage therapist. Over the years, work became more than a way to earn a living—it became a way for him to build independence, confidence and a place for himself in society.

Today, Sky is taking another step forward with Blind Brew 微光咖啡.

Blind Brew was created with a purpose that goes beyond serving coffee. Sky hopes to build a small business that can create employment opportunities for other visually impaired people, giving them the chance to work, develop their skills and earn an income with dignity.

Sky also hopes Blind Brew can become a platform to create greater public awareness about visual impairment and accessibility.

For him, accessibility is not simply about having facilities such as tactile pathways for people with visual impairment. These facilities need to be thoughtfully designed, properly connected and maintained so that they can genuinely help people navigate their surroundings safely and independently.

More importantly, Sky hopes society can develop a better understanding of the everyday experiences and challenges faced by people with visual impairment.

More Than a Coffee Stall

Blind Brew is a small coffee stall, but Sky hopes its purpose can grow beyond the stall itself. It is a place where people can enjoy coffee, Chendol, tea eggs and other local favourites, while also getting to know the person behind the counter and the story behind the business.

For Sky, every customer is not just a customer. Every cup served is another opportunity to show that people with visual impairment can contribute, work, build businesses and create opportunities for others.

Sky 从17岁开始，就与B2级视力障碍（Visual Impairment / Low Vision) 一起生活。

20岁那年，他开始从事脚底按摩工作。多年来，工作对 Sky 来说不只是谋生的方式，也让他一步一步建立自己的独立生活、信心，以及在社会上属于自己的位置。

如今，他决定开始另一个新的尝试——创办 Blind Brew 微光咖啡。

Blind Brew 的诞生，并不只是为了卖咖啡。

Sky 希望通过经营这个档口，为自己创造一个事业的同时，也能够为其他视障人士创造更多就业机会。

他希望未来有更多视障人士可以通过工作学习新技能、获得收入，并且靠自己的能力生活。

用一杯咖啡，让更多人了解视障人士

除了创造就业机会，Sky 也希望 Blind Brew 能成为一个让社会更加了解视障人士与无障碍环境的平台。

在 Sky 的生活经验中，无障碍并不只是建设一些盲道或辅助设施那么简单。

这些设施是否足够连贯、是否安全、是否容易使用，以及日常环境中人们是否真正理解视障人士的需要，同样非常重要。

因此，Sky 希望通过自己的故事，让更多人开始关注视障人士在日常生活中面对的各种挑战，也让大家思考：

我们所认为“已经足够”的无障碍设施，真的能够让视障人士安全、独立地生活吗？

他希望 Blind Brew 能够成为一个小小的起点，让这些话题有机会被更多人看见、听见和讨论。

Blind Brew 微光咖啡只是一个小小档口。这里有咖啡、Chendol（煎蕊）、茶叶蛋以及其他简单的饮料和本地小吃。

但对 Sky 来说，这个档口承载的意义远远不只是卖东西。

Sky 希望有一天，Blind Brew 不只是一个由视障人士经营的咖啡档口，也能够成为一个帮助更多视障人士找到工作机会、建立自信和实现独立生活的平台。
